Celebrity Life

This month, I was featured in the hospital newsletter. It is called NeuroNews. Here are the cover and the page with the interview. I was wondering why the hordes of people were chasing me on the tube on the way to work! Now I know how Prince Harry feels. Flat Stanley... er, Cooper

I learned of Flat Stanley through the King of the Hill episode. It was great. Peggy tried to use it as a teaching opportunity to show the kids how to avoid dangerous things like wandering into a pork plant. Great stuff.

You can imagine how delighted I was to find out that he was real! And probably owing at least in part to Peggy and other like minded antics, both well and ill meaning, Flat Stanley comes with rules... Oh bother!

Our Flat Stanley was actually Flat Cooper. My nephew Cooper (pictured with his auntie!) sent him from Pennsylvania as part of a class project, just like on King of the Hill. So Flat Cooper had a London adventure. When I asked one of my coworkers to help me by letting me photograph Flat Cooper at the wheel of her car (being right handed drive), I learned that she had read the book. Book? Yes, book. Apparently there was a book called... you guessed it... Flat Stanley. I didn't know there was a book! It was written in the 60s. In the book, a bulletin board lands on Stanley, of course flattening him. He slips under doors and visits friends by the mail.

So Flat Cooper had his London adventure. He has his own website: flatcooper.blogspot.com

Check out Flat Cooper's pictures.  Some are with us.  It was great fun!

Apologies

Well, we are back in London.  My apologies to those who I was not able to visit.  Lesson learned:  next time I will plan out the visits prior to leaving!  We are slowly making our way toward normal life in London.  Today, we took down the Christmas decorations.  For those we did see, it was great to see you.  I will post any travel plans as soon as I know them.
